Reflection

Creating these first prototypes for the Collective App was exciting and interesting to me because it is something I have yet to see out in the world. I would genuinely want to make it come into fruition, so I was inspired to spend the time testing it and getting to know the user.

Since it is a topic that needs to be very careful about how it is framed I want to understand both the user and how the causes and organizations would share their information. The onboarding process became the main focus and the questions that surfaced throughout the testing brought to my attention that I needed to create a more friendly voice to create a transparent and trustworthy app, where I thought I would keep things straightforward and simple was actually where people wanted more information in an inviting tone. I learned how to move outside of myself and my assumptions in order to make something that resonated with the user.

There was a lot to learn and I would love to take it further.

What’s Next?

I would like to develop the dashboard fully including a visual representation of the individual user’s available funds for shifting towards other contributions.

Also to develop hi-fidelity wireframe prototypes for Currents, Funds and Saved pages.

I wish to hold more qualitative usability tests for the new iterations and changes to the overall design.
